Day 13: Psalmish Joy

I looked up the word "joy" in the Psalms. Here's a lit of conclusions we can draw about joy, just from the Psalms. I'll comment further in the next post. Enjoy!

Joy is something the people of God ask for.

Psalm 4:7, 5:11

Joy is a part of the eternal inheritance of the people of God.

Psalm 16:11

Joy is associated with keeping the law.

Psalm 19:8

Joy is associated with the presence of God.

Psalm 16:11, 21:6

Joy is our response to the victories (blessings) we receive from God.

Psalm 20:5, 21:1, 27:6, 30:11, 35:27

Joy is closely associated with praise and worship.

Psalm 28:7, 33:3, 42:4, 66:1

God Himself is our joy.
