Long time away.
I've been spending just about all of my spare time doing ancestral research lately, which can at times become somewhat obsessive for me.
But here I am again, still aspiring to "blog something intelligent almost every day."
It's almost Super Tuesday and things are really getting interesting in the electoral game. As a popcorn-munching observer I'd like to see the battle go on right to the convention, which would make for great political theater. On the other hand, as an American conservative who would prefer not to see socialism make progress in this country, I'd like to see the Democratic Party's center-left coalesce around Joe Biden. For that to happen, Bloomberg would have to have such a dismal showing everywhere that he drops out of the race.
We'll see,
The choice then would be between a hectoring old 60s radical and a chummy grandpa with very fine dental work and a brain that isn't quite as sharp as it once was. OK I'll take the grandpa with gleaming teeth.
That's a matter of preference, but in fact I probably won't vote for either the Dem (whoever it turns out to be) or Trump in November. That's just me. I'm holding out for a candidate who I would actually like to see in the White House, not some sort of slightly lesser evil.
In the meantime, more popcorn please!
