3 things on the 4th

It's the 4th of July so I won't have much to say this morning. I've got other things cookin' today! I may not be around much in the next few days, either, so my readers, numbering in the mid to high single digits(!), will have to bide a while.

I started this latest run of postings at this blog around the time that COVID forced me to work from home. My hope has always been, as I have often repeated here, to say something reasonably intelligent almost every day. My subjects are Christianity and faith in Jesus, music, and cultural and political observation.

I believe the discipline of just trying to put words together and make sense has been good for me, and I have no intention of giving it up. The process helps me to discover what I don't understand, and to ask the right questions in order to close in on understanding. It helps to sharpen my mental focus, and to express myself clearly. Plus, it gives me a good deal of pleasure.

All that being said, have a happy 4th!
