As of this morning, Joe Biden's lead over Donald Trump stands at 4,632,098.
There is a lot of talk about voting irregularities, and the president's team, those that have not come down with the Corona virus after attending the election night watch party at the White House, are bringing lawsuits right and left. It should be noted that by and large these lawsuits make allegations, but provide no evidence. Many seem ludicrous, and some have already been dismissed by judges, citing lack of evidence. Most, even if they were to be won by the Trump side, would not effect the outcome of the races.
A good summary of the cases is here.
The question is, why? Why all these ridiculous lawsuits? The alarmist answers, he's laying the groundwork for a coup! I'm not much worried about that one. Yet. He can't even pull off a press conference at the Four Seasons in Philly, let alone a coup.
I think he's going down fighting, the only way he knows how. None of it has to do with rationality, or the good of the country, or fair play, but only with preserving the Trump brand. To do that, he has to create a narrative about a stolen election. After that, he walks out of the White House as the center of "the resistance." And that, my friends, can be a quite lucrative new career.
