Does anyone have any confidence in the integrity of the impeachment process? Not me.
On the other hand, do I think the whole business about getting your personal lawyer to work with a foreign country to find dirt on a political opponent's family is a little, well, shady? Yeah, quite a little.
Will the impeachment process be a circus? I'm pretty sure of it.
Will the impeachment process be such a circus, such a nakedly political power-grab, that it will actually help Trump fund-raise and even help him win re-election? Quite possibly.
In other words, while the charges against Trump aren't changing anyone's mind about him (because most people don't care), the impeachment process may sway some people, who are otherwise not happy with Trump, into his camp.
But it is all a boon to political junkies like me. Make some popcorn and settle in to watch American political history unfold!
